COSMETOLOGY FACULTY DESCRIPTION
In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in a healthy lifestyle, fitness and beauty care in Poland. The role of modern biochemical, chemical and medical solutions in maintaining a healthy look is growing and aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery and modern cosmetic technologies are used more widely than before.
The cosmetic treatments performed these days are much more complex than the ones from a couple of years ago, which necessitates higher level education of qualified cosmetologists.
Cosmetology (undergraduate studies: 6 semesters for full-time and part-time studies, possibility to continue education at the graduate level) is the Academy's response to market requirements and the growing interest of potential students in this field. Taking into account future performance of our graduates in the job market, we have created a comprehensive curriculum with emphasis on a great number of practical courses.

In 2013, the faculty of Cosmetology has been positively evaluated by the Polish Accreditation Committee in terms of: teaching staff, accomplished learning objectives, the system of their verification, the quality and concept of education, study programs, teaching facilities and requirements for the internal education quality assurance system for the faculty of Cosmetology.

The studies are practical in nature – a major part of workshops is conducted in specialist cosmetology laboratories.
Well-equipped facilitiesThe total value and variety of cosmetology devices and equipment available for our students makes the College one of the best equipped universities with such specialization in Poland. Silesian College of Medicine in Katowice has fully equipped laboratories that allow students to acquire knowledge and practical skills in an interesting and modern way, including laboratories of: cosmetology (PK1, PK2 and PK3), biology, chemistry (lab 1 and lab 2) and make-up and styling.
Lecturers-practitionersOur lecturers boast extensive academic experience, years of teaching practice as well as specialist knowledge acquired while working in professional beauty parlors. Many of our lecturers are employees of the cosmetics and health care industry. The students of the College have the opportunity to work with their future employers.
Excellent locationSilesian College of Medicine in Katowice is located in a modern building in the very center of Katowice at 29 Mickiewicza Street, close to the main transport hubs and on the edge of a paid parking zone. The building has such facilities as a canteen, a restaurant, rest areas with a patio, a post office, a kiosk and a medical clinic.
